About This Spot

Stepping into Salsas Taco Bar feels like coming home to a vibrant neighborhood treasure—where the air hums with the friendly rhythms of Santa Cruz life and the promise of fresh, uncomplicated flavors. The atmosphere is relaxed but buzzing just enough to remind you this is a spot where locals gather regularly, whether grabbing a quick takeout or lingering over their favorite meal. It’s a place where the pace suits the easy flow of the day, welcoming you to slow down for just a moment, savor your food, and soak in the genuine warmth of the human connections around you.

Behind the counter, there’s a palpable care woven into every detail—from the crisp homemade chips that arrive with just the right balance of salt and crunch, to an extensive salsa lineup that ranges from tangy and bright to spices that quietly build on the palate. Whether you’re reaching for a classic taco or exploring one of the thoughtfully crafted vegan options, each bite hints at the kitchen’s commitment to freshness and balance, fresh vegetables still snapping with crunch, and sauces layered with flavor but never overwhelming.

The welcoming staff, familiar faces for many, add to the ease of the experience, making it clear that this isn’t just another quick stop—it’s a taqueria that has comfortably settled into the rhythm of the community. With generous portions that feel like a thoughtful embrace and a menu diverse enough to cater both traditional cravings and plant-based preferences, Salsas manages to be simultaneously casual and considered. It’s a spot that invites exploration and, more often than not, a return visit.

OMG The BEST Mexican food in town by far!! They have a super wide selection of salsas from tangy to hot, and sweet. They even have every vegan option you would want in a Mexican meal… beyond crumbles, beyond sausage, vegan cheese, even vegan sour cream!!! Friends tell me their traditional Mexican food is solid too. Their vegetables are cooked to perfection. Always with the perfect amount of crunch! Their service is outstanding too. Always kind and courteous. And their prices are also 100% legit! Tip em big they deserve it!

Great Mexican food! Wonderful prices, and some of the best tacos around. The pastor taco and birria were delicious. Nice staff.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in town. I particularly love their veggie burrito because it has carrots and broccoli, mushrooms and cauliflower in it. And the burritos are really big here. There are also a lot of vegan options which is rare.

We go to Salsa's Taco Bar at least once a week, our favorite taqueria in Santa Cruz and not too expensive. My personal favorite is the fajitas burrito; the breakfast burrito is a close second.

Solid place to grab some Mexican food! They have some seating around the corner, and a counter to order from (and be served). The food is delicious, and a great option for a take out! They recently redid the window branding and it looks great. They're usually not too busy, and there's a good sized parking lot to park in! Overall a great experience!

I recently dined at Jonny and Danny’s restaurant, and I can confidently say it’s the gem of our town! For nine years, these two have been serving up the best food around, and it’s no surprise why they’ve earned such a stellar reputation. From the moment you walk in, the warm, welcoming atmosphere sets the tone for an unforgettable experience.

Absolutely delicious! Quick tip: more food fits in the soft tacos. We are enjoying the carne asada soft taco, generously filled with meat and veg. Best horchata & tasty salsa too, of course. Can't wait to come back!
